[UPDATED] A mother and her two children were found dead inside a Toyota Avanza in Barangay Talacsan, San Rafael, Bulacan, on Thursday afternoon, police said.

According to a report by RH Grace Sansano, the victims were a 31-year-old mother and her two children, a 4-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy, who were residents of Barangay Virgen de las Flores in Baliuag City.

An initial investigation report from the San Rafael Municipal Police Station said the three victims were found inside the vehicle shortly after 2 p.m. All three had apparent injuries to the head, police said.

Authorities have yet to identify a suspect or establish a motive for the killings.

The San Rafael police, assisted by intelligence and investigation operatives from the Bulacan Provincial Police Office, are conducting a continuing investigation into the incident.

Police are also reviewing possible closed-circuit television footage along routes the vehicle may have taken and coordinating with authorities in neighboring towns as part of efforts to trace the vehicle's movements.

Police Regional Office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez has ordered a swift and thorough investigation and the immediate arrest of those responsible for the crime.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
