The Miss Universe Philippines Organization has announced a change in the schedule of the highly anticipated Miss Universe Philippines 2026 coronation night, moving the event to May 2, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Gates will open at 6:00 PM.
Originally set for May 1, the adjustment was made to allow sufficient time for venue preparation and to ensure the proper staging and production of the live coronation event. Organizers assured that all previously purchased tickets will remain valid, and seat assignments will be honored.
According to information from Pageant Media/Vlogger Oyelle De Leon of "For the Philippines", the schedule change was prompted by a venue coordination issue after SM Mall of Asia Arena discovered an existing event on April 30, leaving insufficient turnaround time for full production setup and rehearsals before the pageant night.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization emphasized that adequate rehearsal time at the actual venue is crucial for ensuring a seamless production. MUPH President Jonas Gaffud, a key figure behind the pageant’s production standards, has consistently required full dress rehearsals to maintain the quality and flow of the show.
Since previous editions, including 2022 to 2025, the organization has reportedly been allotted limited rehearsal time at the arena, typically around one day, which contrasts with other major international pageants that allow longer on-site preparation periods.
Organizers said the adjustment ensures that candidates are given proper staging conditions ahead of the final competition, maintaining the production standards expected of one of the country’s biggest national pageants.
