The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has denied circulating claims about changes in its ownership, stating that the global pageant brand remains “under its current ownership and leadership.”
In an official statement, the organization addressed what it described as “false and misleading statements” regarding its ownership and leadership structure.
"These statements have been made seeking to misrepresent ownership, falsely suggest acquisition or purchasing opportunities, and create confusion. Such actions appear designed to deceive the public, improperly solicit investments, and exploit the Miss Universe brand for personal benefit, visibility, or advantage," MUO said.
The clarification comes after businessman Chavit Singson claimed that Anne Jakrajutatip and Raul Rocha are no longer owners of the Miss Universe brand.
"MUO is not owned anymore by Anne Jakrajutatip or Raul Rocha Cantú. In fact, they both have arrest warrants against them!" Singson said in a post.
MUO said the rumors prompted confusion and misinformation, particularly following a social media post by Singson alongside former MUO Vice President Shawn McClain. The organization emphasized that there is no truth to reports suggesting a sale or transfer of ownership.
According to the organization, it is coordinating closely with its legal advisers and is prepared to take necessary action to protect its integrity, partners, and the public from deception or misuse of its name, brand, and reputation.
“The Miss Universe Organization is actively reviewing these matters with its legal advisors and will take all appropriate and necessary steps to address and prevent further false, misleading, or unauthorized actions or statements,” the organization said.
MUO further alleged that such claims appear to be designed to deceive the public, improperly solicit investments, and exploit the Miss Universe brand for personal gain, visibility, or advantage.
In response, the organization stated “clearly and unequivocally” that it continues to operate under its existing ownership and leadership.
MUO urged the public, partners, and members of the media to rely only on its official channels for accurate and verified information. Updates related to leadership, ownership, and organizational structure, it said, will be released exclusively through its official platforms.
As it enters what it calls a “landmark era,” the MUO reaffirmed its focus on continuity, transparency, and its enduring global mission.
