The legal team of beauty queen Michelle Dee is preparing to request an Interpol red notice against social media personality Xian Gaza, if necessary, amid ongoing cyber libel cases.
According to Dee’s lawyer, Atty. Maggie Garduque, local law enforcement agencies will be pushed to request a red notice once an arrest warrant is issued. This, she explained, is needed to establish jurisdiction over Gaza, who is currently believed to be outside the Philippines.
Garduque emphasized that aside from the cyber libel complaint, Gaza is facing other pending cases.
Earlier Wednesday, Dee’s lawyers submitted a supplemental affidavit to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding allegedly defamatory posts by Gaza targeting Dee.
Garduque said their complaint is now ready for filing with the NBI Cybercrime Division and subsequently with the Office of the City Prosecutor. She expressed confidence that the cyber libel complaint will proceed, pointing out that Gaza’s social media posts demonstrate “actual malice.”
