Amid fuel price highs and deepening wage lows, Michael V. has shared an anthem for the everyday Filipino salaryman.

Titled “Eh Kulang” by NoKita, Bitoy’s track is a parody spun from the local love song “Ikaw Lang” by Nobita.

Bitoy sings about daily financial struggles—his earnings falling short of paying off his mother’s pawned earrings, demands for a debtor to pay up—as well as broader frustrations with the government, particularly how it fails to effectively address Filipinos’ immediate needs like food security, preoccupied by fruitless legal proceedings (“Walang pagkain, at wala ring aamin”).

For the music video, the comedian-musician donned a barong and salakot—a costume that has become emblematic of “every Juan”—standing in the witness box at the “BBL Trial Court: Manila RTC Branch,” crooning out the everyday worker’s account on Philippine current affairs.

The band Nobita said it was an honor for Bitoy to have parodied “Ikaw Lang.”

“An honor for us Sir @Michael V !! #BubbleGang,” they posted on Facebook.

Bitoy has also made spoofs of Lola Amour’s “Raining in Manila,” Dilaw’s “Uhaw,” and “Salamin, Salamin,” by the Nation’s Girl Group, BINI.
