The Miami Heat acquired two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in a blockbuster trade with the Milwaukee Bucks late Monday, sending a package of young players and multiple draft picks to Milwaukee, according to reports.
The agreement is also known to include forward Bobby Portis heading to Miami.
In return, the Bucks will receive Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kasparas Jakučionis, along with significant draft compensation.
That haul includes the No. 13 overall selection in the 2026 NBA Draft, which will be made Tuesday night, first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a first-round pick swap in 2030 and a second-round pick in 2033, the person said on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been officially announced.
Antetokounmpo, a 10-time All-Star and one of the league’s most dominant two-way players, gives Miami a franchise centerpiece as it looks to return to title contention. He spent his entire career in Milwaukee prior to the trade, leading the Bucks to an NBA championship in 2021.
Portis adds frontcourt depth and toughness to the Heat rotation.
For Milwaukee, the move signals a major roster reset built around youth, flexibility and future assets.
Herro, an established guard, headlines a group of promising young players, while the draft capital provides long-term rebuilding options.
The trade is one of the most significant deals in recent NBA history, reshaping both franchises ahead of the upcoming season and beyond.
