by Mary Antalan25 December 2025

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said the celebration of Christmas in Metro Manila was generally peaceful, with no major incidents reported.

Interviewed on Thursday during the program Damdaming Bayan, NCRPO spokesperson Police Major Hazel Asilo said authorities only dealt with minor and routine incidents during the holiday.

“Para sa nakararami po dito sa atin sa Metro Manila, naging maayos at mapayapa naman po ang kanilang Noche Buena,” Asilo said.

Asilo reported that several individuals were arrested for illegal gambling in the days leading up to Christmas. A reported road rage incident involving a van and a motorcycle was also resolved.

Indiscriminate firing incident

The NCRPO also monitored an incident of indiscriminate firing in Parañaque City involving a 'uniformed personnel'.

The officer is currently under the custody of the Southern Police District while an investigation is ongoing.

“Under custody na po ng kapulisan ang ating suspek, at inihahanda na po ang kaso para maihain sa korte,” Asilo said.

Authorities said no one was hit by stray bullets during the incident.

Firecracker-related incidents

Meanwhile, the NCRPO recorded eight firecracker-related injuries in Metro Manila based on monitoring that began on December 16. An additional incident was reported on Wednesday but has yet to be included in the official count.

According to Asilo, three of the victims were minors. All of the injuries were reported to be minor.
