The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of Metro Manila, Cavite, and Laguna from April 3 to April 5 to facilitate maintenance, testing, and line work.

In Caloocan City, a power outage is scheduled from 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday until 5 a.m. the following day, affecting areas under the Sitio Gitna 63SIG – Bagbaguin 63YZ and Sitio Gitna 61SIG – Kaybiga 62YX circuits. Included among those affected is the Metrodragon Steel Corporation within the MGM Industrial Compound.

Meralco said the interruption is necessary for preventive maintenance and testing works at the CIPP substation.

In Cavite, interruptions are set on April 5 between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. due to load normalization activities related to the ongoing NGCP Tuy–Dasmariñas 500kV Line Project.

Affected areas include some barangays in Alfonso, General Emilio Aguinaldo, General Trias City, Magallanes, Maragondon, Naic, Tanza, Ternate, and Trece Martires City.

Also in Cavite, a separate interruption is scheduled on April 3 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., affecting General Trias City, particularly the Purefoods–Hormel Company Inc. Plant 3 in Sitio De Fuego, Barangay San Francisco.

Maintenance works at the facility will also affect Plants 1 and 2 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

In Manila, power service will be interrupted on April 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) along MICT Road in Tondo. The outage is due to line reconstruction works in the area.

Meanwhile, in Laguna, multiple outages are scheduled from April 3 to 4.

In Santa Rosa City, electricity service will be temporarily cut from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on both days. The affected area includes the entire Circuit LIIP 61WM – LNPI – Pulong Sta. Cruz 62PLS, including facilities of Lucky Nine Properties Inc. along Sta. Rosa–Tagaytay Road in Barangay Pulong Sta. Cruz.

Meralco said the interruption is necessary for maintenance works along Sta. Rosa–Tagaytay Road, including portions of nearby Biñan City.

In Calamba City, a separate outage is scheduled on April 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Affected areas include portions of Makiling Drive and San Juan River Drive in Carmelray Industrial Park 2, Barangay Punta.

Facilities affected include HKT Phils., Techlog Center, Boston Semi Equipment Phils., Adampack & Print (Phils.), Advantek, Techware Kinzoku Technology Corp., GT Jigs & Checkers Manufacturing, Containerboard & Packaging, and Ito-Seisakusho Phils. The interruption will allow preventive maintenance and testing works at the Meralco CIPP substation.

Additional areas that may experience service interruptions include portions of Main Avenue and nearby streets, such as Park Drive, Fursion Drive, and Energy Street, due to line reconstruction work.

Meralco advised residents and businesses in affected areas to take necessary precautions to minimize inconvenience during the scheduled outages.
