The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) released the list of areas that may experience rotating brownouts on Friday, May 15, following the declaration of Red and Yellow Alert statuses over the Luzon Grid due to generation deficiencies.

According to Meralco, four tentative Manual Load Dropping (MLD) schedules may be implemented from the afternoon until evening to help stabilize the power grid. Areas in Bulacan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Rizal, and nearby provinces are among those expected to be affected.

Among the affected areas in Bulacan are parts of Balagtas, Baliuag City, and San Jose del Monte City, including barangays such as Bagong Nayon, Baliuag Proper, Muzon, Minuyan Proper, and Gaya-Gaya.

Several Metro Manila cities are also included in the advisory, particularly portions of Makati, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, Manila, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, San Juan, Taguig, Marikina, and Muntinlupa. Affected communities include Bel-Air, Poblacion, Fort Bonifacio, Pandacan, Alabang, Socorro, Ugong Norte, and BF Homes.

In Cavite, affected locations include areas in Carmona City, Dasmariñas City, Imus City, Silang, Amadeo, and Tagaytay City. Meanwhile, portions of Antipolo, Cainta, Taytay, Baras, Morong, and Teresa in Rizal Province may also experience power interruptions.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said the Red Alert was raised after several power plants went on forced outage, reducing available power supply amid high electricity demand.

Meralco advised consumers to conserve electricity and monitor official advisories, as schedules may still change depending on grid conditions.
