Property developer MegaWorld Corporation will invest ₱8 billion in a new township development, “The Sugar Town,” near the Bacolod-Silay Airport road in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The 97-hectare township will include commercial and retail spaces, a town center, and unique tourism facilities. The company plans to complete the project within seven to ten years.

The location near the airport is intended to attract tourists and stimulate the local economy, providing new business and employment opportunities in Negros Occidental.

Meanwhile, the Philippine peso closed at ₱59.26 per U.S. dollar yesterday.
