A meat vendor was killed after being stabbed by a fellow vendor at the Tacloban Public Market on Sunday afternoon, January 18, 2025.

The victim, identified by the alias “Dune,” 48, married and a resident of Barangay 105, Suhi, Tacloban City, was seated at his display stall when the suspect suddenly approached and stabbed him twice in the chest, according to police.

Despite managing to walk several meters, the victim collapsed due to severe injuries. He was rushed to Tacloban City Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect, identified by the alias “Sem,” 39, fled the scene carrying the weapon but was immediately arrested by authorities during a hot pursuit operation. He is now in police custody as investigations into the incident continue.
