MBC Operation Tulong extends aid to fire victims in Catmon, Malabon City

As early as 6 a.m., the MBC Operation Tulong team headed to Malabon City to deliver assistance to residents affected by a massive fire in Barangay Catmon.

By 7 a.m, the group began distributing hot meals (lugaw) to evacuees at Acacia Elementary School, one of the largest evacuation centers in the city.

According to the report of RH 19 Mae Binauhan in a DZRH program, 1,009 individuals or 277 families are currently taking shelter at Acacia Elementary School following the blaze.

Operation Tulong also reached other evacuation sites, including the Malabon Evacuation Center, which housed 89 families or 340 individuals, and the Catmon Integrated School, with 58 families or 247 individuals affected.

In total, the relief operation was able to assist nearly 1,500 evacuees across the three major evacuation centers.

Meanwhile, Missy Macuja Elizalde joined the relief operations while adding a touch of joy to the relief efforts, DZRH reporter Sherwin Alfaro also entertained the evacuees, bringing smiles and hope to families recovering from the incident.
