The planned rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been postponed, Pacquiao’s camp said Friday, citing legal disputes and financial issues tied to Mayweather’s side.
The fight, scheduled for Sept. 19 at the Sphere in Las Vegas and set to stream on Netflix, is now unlikely before early 2027.
Pacquiao’s camp pointed to “federal lawsuits, scheduling overbooks, and financial gridlock” surrounding Mayweather.
The delay follows a lawsuit by events firm CSI seeking at least $4.65 million over promotional rights tied to the rematch and a separate exhibition involving Mike Tyson.
"Should Mayweather and CSI settle their internal contract disputes out of court, promoters will immediately pivot to rescheduling a postponed exhibition between Mayweather and Mike Tyson, tentatively targeting 12 September," the Pacquiao team statement said.
Pacquiao, 47, returned from retirement last year and fought Mario Barrios to a draw. Mayweather, 49, has not fought professionally since 2017 and remains 50-0.
Their 2015 bout, won by Mayweather, remains boxing’s richest fight.
