Manila Mayor Francisco Isko Moreno Domagoso expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for providing free rice assistance to thousands of Manila residents affected by rising commodity prices.

Under the “Biyayang Bigas para sa Maynila” program, around 80,000 taxpayers and workers will receive 10 kilograms of rice monthly for six months, offering much-needed relief amid ongoing economic pressures.

“On behalf of the people of Manila, thank you very much in these struggling, challenging times that you are helping the people of Manila,” Moreno said, emphasizing the program’s impact on easing household expenses.

The initiative aims to cushion the effects of inflation and support working Manileños as the government continues its relief efforts.
