Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso on Monday presented the suspect in the killing of a teenage girl who was hit by a stray bullet while visiting her boyfriend’s home in Tondo during the early hours of Christmas Day.
The Manila Police District (MPD) Station 1 identified the suspect as Bingber Kyle Enaje, 24, a member of the Batang City Jail group, who was arrested at around 11:20 p.m. on January 19 along C.P. Garcia Street, Barangay 118, Tondo.
Police said Enaje was apprehended after authorities received a report from a concerned citizen about a man carrying a firearm and provoking trouble. He was arrested after being found in possession of an unlicensed gun.
Authorities said multiple charges will be filed against the suspect, including homicide, violation of Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code (Alarm and Scandal), and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
Mayor Moreno assured the public that the city government, in coordination with the MPD, will pursue justice and ensure public safety in the City of Manila.
