Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso, on February 4, presented one of two suspects in a recent copper theft incident in Tondo during a live airing of “Talk To The People,” underscoring the city’s swift response to crimes caught on social media.

The suspect, identified as Ramil Fernandez y Ocampo, alias “Boy Paldo,” 20, a resident of Barangay 108, was arrested by operatives of the Manila Police District–Raxabago Police Station at around 12:30 p.m. while allegedly playing cara y cruz along Capulong Street.

Authorities said the arrest came two days after a netizen’s video of the copper theft from a truck went viral online, prompting immediate action under the city government’s “Bilis Kilos” campaign.

Following his arrest, Fernandez was placed under inquest proceedings and charged with violations of Presidential Decree No. 102 (Illegal Gambling) and Republic Act No. 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition).

The city government reiterated its warning that criminal activities will not be tolerated in Manila and assured residents that threats to public order and safety will be addressed without delay.
