Four instances of minor Strombolian activity was captured at Mayon Volcano's summit crater in sped-up camera footage: the first at 11:21 PM, then at 11:26 PM, and 11:35 PM on May 23, and again at 1:03 AM on May 24.

Authorities reported that the volcano’s effusive eruption has now persisted for 139 consecutive days, producing incandescent lava flows, pyroclastic density currents (locally known as “uson”), and frequent rockfalls from the upper slopes.

Despite the sustained activity, no escalation in alert status has been declared, with Alert Level 3 remaining in effect. Under current restrictions, entry into the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone remains strictly prohibited due to the continuing risk of sudden explosions, lava collapse, and hazardous volcanic flows.

Volcanic monitoring agencies continue to closely observe Mayon’s behavior as it maintains elevated unrest and persistent eruptive output, posing ongoing risks to surrounding communities.
