Time-lapse footage from the DOST-PHIVOLCS Quick Response Team and the Mayon Volcano Observatory captured minor Strombolian activities at 12:30 AM and 6:46 AM today, March 29, 2026.
According to PHIVOLCS, the volcanic activity produced ash clouds that rose up to 500 meters before drifting southwest.
The effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano continues for its 83rd consecutive day, generating incandescent lava flows, pyroclastic density currents (PDC) or “uson”, and frequent rockfalls.
PHIVOLCS maintains Alert Level 3 over Mayon, warning residents and visitors that entry into the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone is strictly prohibited due to the ongoing volcanic hazards.
Authorities urge nearby communities to stay vigilant, follow evacuation protocols if necessary, and monitor official advisories for updates.
