Mt. Mayon emitted a 600-meter plume from its summit crater on Sunday morning, announced the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

At 6:21 a.m. on Sunday, PHIVOLCS logged an ash emission from the volcano.

After rising to 600 meters above the summit crater, the plume drifted southeast, as recorded in footage by the Mayon Volcano Observatory - Ligñon Hill Station (VMLH) and Ligao Station (VMLI) IPCamera.

At present, Alert Level 2 prevails over Mayon Volcano.

The agency advises that entry into the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone remains prohibited.
