Drag Race Philippines Season 3 winner Maxie Andreison has publicly apologized after a 2023 video showing her physically confronting a fan resurfaced online, saying she deeply regrets her actions and has learned from the incident.

In an Instagram Live, Maxie, also known as Jhayvot Galang, addressed the viral video, acknowledging she was at fault, emphasizing that she was not trying to justify her behavior. She revealed that the incident occurred three years ago and that both parties had already spoken, apologized to one another, and resolved the matter long before the footage circulated again on social media.

“Hello po. Ako po ay nag-live ngayon dahil meron kumakalat na video ko three years ago. May nasaktan ako at mali talaga ako doon. Mali talaga ako doon. After that incident, nag-usap na kami agad. Nag-sorry na ako... nag-sorry na rin sila. And nakapagpatawaran na kami sa isa't isa. And we move on,” Maxie said.

The resurfaced video shows Maxie involved in a physical altercation with a fan after a bar performance. Social media posts surrounding the clip alleged that the incident happened after an intoxicated fan accidentally pulled off Maxie’s wig while they were posing for a photo. While Maxie did not discuss the specific circumstances behind the altercation, she accepted full responsibility for her actions.

“Sana lang three years ago, mas na-handle ko yung sitwasyon nang mas matalino, na mas kalmado... Hindi kasi tama talaga na manakit. Hindi siya tama. Kahit saan aspeto,” she said.

Maxie admitted that the incident remains a painful lesson in her life, saying it continues to remind her of the importance of self-control and personal growth. She credited the people around her for helping guide her toward becoming a better person.

“Buti na lang ngayon eh, may nag-ga-guide na sa akin na mga tao. Ayoko nang maulit yun. Tinatry ko naman magbago. After that incident, ang dami ko natutunan,” she shared.

She also apologized to supporters who were disappointed after seeing the video and expressed hope that she would no longer have to issue apologies for similar incidents in the future.

“Hindi ako nandito para i-defend yung sarili ko, dahil mali talaga yun... ayoko na maging ganoon ulit. Pasensya na... sana sa susunod kong live, hindi na ako nagso-sorry,” Maxie said.

The apology has since sparked discussion online, with many fans acknowledging Maxie's accountability while others continue to debate the resurfaced incident, despite her statement that the issue had already been settled between those directly involved.
