Maris Racal closes out 2025 by looking back on the four characters she portrayed throughout the year.
On December 31, the actress shared an Instagram post featuring photos of the roles she took on over the past months. In her caption, she wrote, “We launched 4 roles this year. what a year. always grateful, universe! ✨”
The first photo highlighted her role as Sunshine from the film "Sunshine," where she portrayed a young gymnast with Olympic ambitions whose life takes an unexpected turn after discovering she is pregnant right before national try-outs. The story explores themes of women’s choices, pressure, and the difficult decisions they are forced to face.
Next was Gab, also known as "Sparrow," from the action-thriller "Incognito." Gab is depicted as a strong, multilingual spy, skilled in disguise, who even enters a sham marriage with Tomas as part of her mission to secure her inheritance.
The third character featured was Jessa in "Sosyal Climbers," a woman who finds herself deep in debt after being scammed. With her partner, she uses new identities to infiltrate high society, turning a desperate situation into an opportunity.
Lastly, Racal highlighted her portrayal of Paula in "Batang Quiapo," a fresh recruit of the National Law Enforcement Agency assigned to the Quiapo Police Station—a determined officer driven by duty and her desire to protect the people of Manila.
