Lawmakers called on the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to verify the identities of individuals in documents tied to the controversial disbursement of Vice President Sara Duterte’s confidential funds.

In a report by RH Milky Rigonan, House Assistant Majority Leader Zia Alonto Adiong raised concerns over the presence of potentially dubious names—including that of Akbayan Party-list Representative Chel Diokno and actress Marian Rivera—in acknowledgment receipts submitted by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to the Commission on Audit (COA).

Adiong pointed out that some names might be legitimate, while others could be aliases.

He further noted that several acknowledgment receipts were not presented during the investigation conducted by the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.

Moreover, he pointed out that the documents previously examined by the committee appeared questionable, showing inconsistencies and irregularities in their content.

Given these issues, Adiong underscored the need for agencies like the NBI and PSA to step in, noting that their technical capacity, credibility, and legal mandate would be significant in determining whether the names listed in the receipts truly exist and were involved.

On the other hand, the name “Mary Grace Piattos” was the first to appear in the disbursement records, quickly gaining public attention due to its unusual and food-inspired nature.

Following this, even more peculiar names were uncovered in the Office of the Vice President’s confidential fund receipts, including “Jay Kamote,” “Miggy Mango,” and multiple variations of the name “Dodong”—namely Dodong Alcala, Dodong Bina, Dodong Bunal, Dodong Darong, and Dodong S. Barok.

PSA reported finding no official birth, marriage, or death records for Miggy Mango, Jay Kamote, or any of the five individuals bearing the name Dodong, which was later added to the growing list of questionable identities linked to the disbursement records.

The impeachment proceedings in the Senate are set to commence on June 2, with the formal trial expected to begin in July. It coincides with the opening of the 20th Congress, which includes newly elected officials from the recent midterm elections.
