President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Saturday called on Filipinos to mark this year’s observance of Undas with solemn prayer and reflection, urging the public to draw inspiration from the lives and virtues of those who have passed on.
In his message released on Saturday, the President emphasized that these twin feasts serve as a reminder of the eternal paradise that awaits in the hereafter, “where poverty, pain, and suffering no longer hold purchase, and where the Lord Almighty resides in splendor among His people.”
Marcos encouraged Filipinos to honor the memory of their departed loved ones not only through remembrance but also through meaningful action.
He also underscored the importance of faith, compassion, and unity as guiding principles in living purposeful lives.
"During these twin feasts, we proclaim that those who came before us do not vanish into nothingness but continue to live on in our hearts and minds," he said.
“Let the Philippines strive to be that lamp upon a hill where people carry the memory of the dead as strength, the witness of the saints as guide, and the hope of a permanent dwelling as purpose until time itself bows before eternity,” the President added.
Marcos wished Filipinos a solemn and meaningful Undas 2025 as families gather across the nation to remember and honor their departed loved ones.
Marcos is in South Korea for the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
