President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. urged the public to honor their departed loved ones through acts of kindness and compassion as the country observes All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day on November 1 and 2.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, November 1, Marcos encouraged Filipinos to remember the lives, memories, and values left behind by their deceased loved ones.
He said that although their loved ones are no longer around, the memories they shared and the lessons they imparted continue to strengthen family ties.
The President also urged the public to draw inspiration from the saints, whose lives of selfless service and devotion serve as reminders to show kindness and compassion toward others.
"Let us honor those who have passed not only through our prayers, but also through the way we care for those who remain," Marcos said.
He also expressed hope that the solemn observances would bring peace to those mourning the loss of loved ones and remind Filipinos to cherish the people who remain in their lives.
