President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday directed Congress to prioritize four legislative measures aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and political reforms.
During a meeting of the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) on Tuesday, Palace Press Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said Marcos emphasized the urgent passage of the following bills:
-
Anti-Dynasty Bill
-
Independent People’s Commission Act
-
Party-list System Reform Act
-
Citizens’ Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability (CADENA) Act
According to Malacañang, the President instructed both the House of Representatives and the Senate “to take a closer look at the four bills and prioritize their passage as soon as possible.”
Castro said the LEDAC meeting was attended by Senate President Vicente Sotto III, House Speaker Faustino Bojie Dy, House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos, and other congressional leaders.
She added that the discussions also covered timelines for the passage of the General Appropriations Bill (GAB) and the submission of enrolled bills for the President’s signature.
The administration emphasized that these legislative measures are crucial to institutionalizing transparency, strengthening accountability in public finance, and advancing political reforms in the country.
