President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. improved his trust and performance ratings in the first quarter of 2026, while Vice President Sara Duterte saw a decline in her performance rating, according to the latest survey by OCTA Research.

Results of the Tugon ng Masa nationwide survey showed on Monday, April 20, that Marcos’ trust rating rose to 54% from 48% in the previous quarter. His performance rating also increased to 55% from 51%.

“Across major areas, Pres. Marcos Jr.’s performance ratings reached majority levels in all regions, highest in Balance Luzon at 57 percent and Visayas at 56 percent, and lowest in NCR at 53 percent and Mindanao at 51 percent,” the report stated.

The figures marked a rebound from the fourth quarter of 2025, when Marcos registered 48% trust and 51% performance ratings.

Meanwhile, the Vice President’s performance rating dropped to 50% from 54% in the previous survey period.

Her highest trust rating was recorded in Mindanao at 90%, while her lowest ratings were observed in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Balance Luzon, both at 40%.

In terms of performance, Duterte posted her strongest rating in Mindanao at 83%. The lowest ratings were recorded in Balance Luzon at 35%, followed by the NCR at 37%.

The survey was conducted from March 19 to 25 through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above nationwide. It has a margin of error of ±3 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

OCTA Research said the survey was independent, nonpartisan, and not commissioned by any group, and aims to measure public trust and performance ratings of key government officials as a public service.
