On Labor Day, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. pledged that the government would stand by Filipino workers, emphasizing that their support would go beyond a mere duty and would reflect the nation's gratitude for their immense value and sacrifices.
In his message, Marcos acknowledged that the nation's development relies heavily on the workforce, which is why the government remains committed to advancing initiatives that will foster their growth and well-being.
The President emphasized that work is not only about personal advancement but also a noble contribution to the history of the country.
He further stated that with each day the Filipino worker labors for their own well-being and that of their family, they embody a spirit of sacrifice that benefits the wider community.
Marcos explained that the policies being implemented should reflect the belief that the true wealth of a nation is not measured by its income, but by the dignity of the people who strive to succeed.
He then assured that the government is not just a bystander in progress, but an active partner of the people in building a country, where society is fair and just.
The President led the 123rd Labor Day Celebration at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City today.
Furthermore, the event, spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), offered around 12,729 job opportunities from 100 participating employers for approximately 1,500 job seekers.
