President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. on Friday called on the new graduates of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) and PNP to maintain a zero-tolerance stance against corruption and human rights abuses within the police force.

Marcos led the 47th Commencement Exercises of the PNPA “Silang-Paglaom” Class of 2026 at Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda in Silang, Cavite.

In his address, Marcos emphasized the need for the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Police Commission (Napolcom) to uphold strict standards of integrity.

“The PNP, together with Napolcom, must also maintain a zero-tolerance policy for corruption and human rights abuses. There is no room in this profession for those who bend or break the law,” he said.

The President also directed the PNP and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to carry out prompt and objective investigations into erring officers.

“Ginagawa natin ang lahat ng mga ito dahil ang tunay na lakas ng ating kapulisan ay nasa kalisinisan ng inyong dangal at prinsipyo,” he said.

He challenged the graduates to “transform the PNP into the one that is deeply trusted“ by the citizens.

“Help to cleanse your ranks so that wrongdoings of a few will not destroy the reputation that you have worked so hard to achieve,” he said.

“Become problem solvers by fairly enforcing the law. Be a law enforcer who will bring closure and justice to our people, especially those who have been oppressed,” he told graduates.

Marcos expressed confidence that the new PNPA officers would help strengthen institutional credibility and contribute to safer communities.

“Kaya sa mga miyembro ng ‘Silang-Paglaom’ Class ng 2026, taas-noo ninyong harapin ang inyong katungkulan. Magsilbi kayong liwanag sa gitna ng pagsubok at pag-asa sa bawat Pilipinong inyong pinagsisilbihan,” he added.

The PNPA Class of 2026 marks the 47th batch to graduate from the academy, continuing the tradition of producing officers committed to public service and integrity.

A total of 326 cadets completed their training and officially graduated, with Police Cadet Van Marie Editha Cagasan from Baybay City, Leyte, recognized as the banner cadet of this year’s batch.
