President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday joined Muslim Filipinos in observing this year’s Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice, urging Filipinos to look beyond personal desires and recognize that true fulfillment comes from obedience, humility, and devotion.
He also emphasized the significance of the story of Prophet Ibrahim, which is central to the Islamic celebration.
“As we reflect on the story of Prophet Ibrahim, this sacred occasion reminds us of the power of unwavering faith, complete submission to Allah's will, and trust in a purpose greater than ourselves,” Marcos said.
“It calls us to look beyond our personal desires and to recognize that true fulfillment is found in obedience, humility, and devotion,” he added.
The President further said that Eid’l Adha carries a "timeless message for people of all faiths," stressing that sincere sacrifice becomes a source of strength and meaning.
“It teaches us that whatever we surrender for what is just and noble is never lost. Rather, it is transformed into blessings that enrich our homes, strengthen our communities, and elevate our shared humanity,“ he said.
Marcos also underscored that selflessness helps build understanding among people, bridge divisions, and promote a more just society.
He encouraged Filipinos to carry the spirit of Eid’l Adha into their daily lives through acts of generosity and compassion.
“May this sacred observance inspire deeper reflection and renew our commitment to the values that bind us together as one people and one nation,” he said.
The statement was released from Malacañang Palace, where the administration also confirmed the declaration of May 27, 2026, as a regular holiday nationwide through Proclamation No. 1264 in observance of the Feast of Sacrifice.
