President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his team are conducting a comprehensive review of the ratified 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA) after it was formally transmitted on December 29, according to Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

Recto said a copy of the 2026 national budget, ratified by both the Senate and the House of Representatives, has already been submitted to the Palace.

The Executive Secretary added that the budget is being thoroughly examined to ensure the integrity and effective implementation of government programs and projects, as reported by RH Leth Narciso in dzRH's Dos Por Dos.

The President and his team are carefully scrutinizing all allocations and conditions, Recto stated.

The review aims to ensure that all details, including any changes from the original National Expenditure Program submitted earlier, are clear and transparent.

Recto guaranteed that the 2026 GAA complies not only with legal and technical requirements but, more importantly, addresses the needs of the Filipino people.

The Executive Secretary indicated that the review is expected to take about a week, with the budget likely to be signed by the President during the first week of January.

He also reassured the public that the short review period under the reenacted budget will not affect government operations.
