President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. maintains faith in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) chief despite recently uncovered flood control project anomalies.
This comes as a response to calls to oust DPWH Chief Manuel Bonoan amid the controversy surrounding either faulty or fictitious flood control projects all over the country.
The President himself has so far inspected the purportedly completed riverwall at Baliuag, Bulacan, only to find it non-existent; and the rock shed and rock netting projects over Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet, and regarded them “useless” and “substandard.”
Meanwhile, the Palace distanced itself from reports that former DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson had received “feelers” about possibly regaining his post.
