President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday said he is confident that several individuals implicated in anomalous flood control projects and other corruption cases in government may find themselves behind bars before Christmas.

Wala silang Merry Christmas. Before Christmas, makukulong na sila,” the President said during his report in Malacañang on Wednesday, November 13.

The President reiterated his administration’s determination to recover the public funds stolen through these anomalous projects.

When asked about a timeline for recovering the stolen amounts, Marcos replied that investigations are still ongoing.

So patuloy namin gagawin ‘yan,” he said.

Earlier, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said that some of those accused in the corruption cases related to flood control projects may be arrested and jailed by Christmas.

Marcos also recalled that it has been three months since his State of the Nation Address (SONA), where he first announced the investigation into irregularities in flood control projects.

Following the SONA, the Palace launched the “Sumbong sa Pangulo” website, allowing citizens to directly report cases of corruption, which it has received 20,078 reports since its launch on August 10 up to November 10, 2025, according the President.

Mula noon, nakatanggap na tayo ng more than 20,000 reports.

The President added that the Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) has submitted case referrals to the Office of the Ombudsman involving 37 individuals, including lawmakers, DPWH officials, and contractors linked to the anomalous flood control projects.
