

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. met with Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong at the Malacañang Palace on Thursday, March 12, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
In a Facebook post, Marcos shared that he and the Singaporean leader talks centered on enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, and emerging sectors, including artificial intelligence and clean energy.
“I had a productive meeting with Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong on how the Philippines and Singapore can work more closely in trade, investment, and emerging industries such as artificial intelligence and clean energy,” he added.
The President also emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships as the region works toward greater economic integration.
“As ASEAN works toward a more integrated and competitive region, closer cooperation between our countries helps strengthen our economy, create more opportunities for Filipinos, and keep the Philippines ready for the future,” Marcos said.
