The filing deadline for the 2025 Annual Income Tax Return (ITR) has been extended to May 15, 2026, from its original date of April 15, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced on Tuesday.

In a social media post, Marcos said the extension aims to give taxpayers more time to properly complete and submit their returns, including all necessary supporting documents, without incurring penalties or surcharges.

The President emphasized that the move would ease the burden on Filipino taxpayers, particularly amid rising fuel prices and ongoing economic challenges.

Taxpayers may file and pay through the Bureau of Internal Revenue's (BIR) electronic platforms or through Authorized Agent Banks.
