President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has announced another fuel price rollback set to take effect next week.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, April 18, Marcos said diesel will drop by around ₱24.94 per liter, gasoline by ₱3.41 per liter, and kerosene by ₱2 per liter.
Marcos said the upcoming reduction is larger than the previous week’s adjustment, describing it as a welcome relief for consumers amid ongoing economic pressures.
“Mas malaki ito kaysa sa rollback nung nakaraang linggo at malinaw ang ibig sabihin nito para sa ating lahat may ginhawang parating,” the President said.
He directed oil companies to implement the price reductions “in full, correctly, and without delay,” stressing that the benefits must be fully passed on to the public.
Alongside the fuel price rollback, the government also announced an extension of several transport-related support programs. The validity of driver’s licenses, student permits, and vehicle registrations will be extended by three months.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will implement the extension, meaning motorists with soon-to-expire registrations will not incur penalties or surcharges during the extended period. Student permits and conductor’s licenses are also included in the extension.
The administration also confirmed the continuation of the ₱10 fuel subsidy for public utility vehicles (PUVs), as well as the ongoing service contracting program for PUV drivers.
Marcos emphasized that every centavo of fuel price reduction should be felt by the public, highlighting the importance of easing the daily burden on Filipino commuters and workers.
The President also said the Department of Energy and other concerned agencies remain open to receiving complaints regarding fuel pricing.
Kikilos kami kagad,” Marcos said.
