Senator Rodante Marcoleta called on the public to closely watch the upcoming Senate hearings, with Marcoleta warning that the proceedings could determine the country’s direction amid allegations of corruption and cover-up.

During a Facebook Live broadcast on June 3, Cayetano appealed for prayers and public support to ensure the continuation of the hearings, saying they are seeking to “give the truth a chance” as more witnesses allegedly become available.

Marcoleta delivered a strong message to viewers, saying, “Huwag po kayong kukurap. Baka ito na po ang pinakahuling pagkakataon na ang katotohanan, ang katwiran ay mananaig.”

He added that powerful groups were allegedly trying to suppress the issue, stating, “pera po ninyo ang ninakaw nila.”

The senator also said that what they plan to do in the hearing will define the direction of this country and where it is headed.

Cayetano, meanwhile, emphasized the importance of sworn testimonies, stating, “To tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."

He also stressed that the hearings would allow the public to hear testimonies directly from witnesses.

He also acknowledged Senator Jinggoy Estrada for allegedly standing firm despite pressure, claiming that threats and attempts to influence lawmakers were intensifying.

Cayetano further revealed that the Office of the Ombudsman, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) had been invited to participate in the inquiry to clarify the extent of the alleged anomalies and determine how much public money was involved.
