Manon Bannerman, a member of the girl group KATSEYE, has reassured fans that she is doing well and receiving support, following speculation sparked by her recent Instagram bio change.
Bannerman removed the group’s name from her Instagram bio on Friday, prompting rumors about her status in KATSEYE, especially as the group began teasing their upcoming single, "Pinky Up." Her bio now reads “mademoiselle manzanita,” with no mention of Katseye, which came shortly after the teaser dropped.
Fans quickly noticed her absence in a short promotional clip released on April 2, which featured only the other five members.
In a message posted on Weverse on Thursday, Bannerman expressed gratitude for her fans’ support during her ongoing "temporary hiatus," which began on February 20, 2026.
“Thank you so much for all the love and support you’ve been sending my way. I’m really grateful for the patience and kindness everyone has shown during this time,” Bannerman wrote.
“HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I’m happy and I’m healthy. I’ll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me,” she added.
Her hiatus was initially announced by Hybe and Geffen Records in February. The statement explained that Bannerman would be taking a temporary break from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing, with full support from both companies.
KATSEYE was confirmed to continue scheduled activities during her absence.
Bannerman’s absence from promotional content for Pinky Up, set for release on April 9, has fueled fan speculation about whether she will return to the group.
KATSEYE has continued performing as a five-member group at festivals in South America, such as Lollapalooza Argentina, Lollapalooza Chile, and Estéreo Picnic in Colombia.
The 2023-debuted group, also composed of Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Yoonchae Jeung, and Sophia Laforteza, is preparing for major performances, including their Coachella debut on April 10 and April 17, as well as a headlining spot at the Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival in Pasadena in August.
