The Manila local government announced the temporary suspension of its "Libreng Sakay" (free ride) jeepney program starting Wednesday, April 1, through Sunday, April 5, in observance of Holy Week.
City officials released an advisory stating that the free transport services, which cater to both Manila residents and out-of-town commuters, will be unavailable for a five-day period.
The program is scheduled to resume operations on Monday, April 6. According to the city government, the service will remain active through April 8 to assist the commuting public.
The city administration reiterated its commitment to providing the service to all commuters passing through the capital, regardless of their place of residence, once the suspension concludes.
