Almost 17,000 people have already visited their loved ones at the Manila South Cemetery ahead of the observance of Undas 2025.
According to a report by RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort on DZRH’s Dos Por Dos, the influx of visitors began on Saturday, October 26, and continues to increase. On Tuesday, October 28, the cemetery recorded almost 5,000 visitors in a single day.
Manila South Cemetery OIC Director John Mark Mendez said they are expecting between 600,000 to one million visitors until the culmination of Undas.
Personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Manila Police District (MPD), Philippine Red Cross, MDRRMO, and Manila Traffic Bureau have been deployed in the area to assist the public and maintain order.
To ease mobility, free rides will be offered to priority groups as private vehicles are not allowed inside the cemetery. While overnight stays are prohibited inside, visitors traveling from far areas will be permitted to camp outside.
The Manila South Cemetery is open to the public from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., while the online “Puntod Finder” system is already available for the public to help locate the graves of loved ones more easily.
