The management of the Manila South Cemetery has deployed two drones inside the cemetery grounds to monitor the crowd and enhance security measures during the observance of Undas 2025, as reported by RH Jecelle Ricafort.

According to Cemetery Director John Mark Mendez, the use of drones aims to keep track of the number of visitors and to strengthen the cemetery’s overall safety and monitoring efforts.

“We have drones ready. We tested them yesterday to observe the crowd density. We also added another one, so we have two drones operating,” Mendez said.

Aside from the drone deployment, the cemetery management also provided free wheelchair assistance to more than 30 senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs). These individuals were assisted in visiting their loved ones’ graves and could either wait or request assistance again when leaving the cemetery.

Priority visitors, such as seniors and PWDs, were also given access to a separate entrance, exempting them from long queues.

Meanwhile, cemetery-goers are expecting the arrival of around 30 to 40 e-trikes from the Manila City Government, which will provide free transportation within the cemetery premises for the convenience of the public.
