During his “Talk to the People” Facebook livestream on Tuesday, July 7, Domagoso said the funds will be distributed through three programs implemented by the city government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
“Nilalaan po namin ay humigit-kumulang 688 million, 900 thousand na ire-release ngayong 7 ng July,” Domagoso said.
Of the total amount, ₱611.1 million will come from city government funds, while ₱77.79 million will be provided by the national government through the DSWD’s Social Pension program.
The first tranche, amounting to ₱158.7 million, will be released from July 8 to 11 for 40,250 beneficiaries under funded city ordinances. This includes incentives for 4,447 Manila Police District personnel, 358 Bureau of Fire Protection personnel, and 431 Bureau of Jail Management and Penology personnel, who will each receive ₱2,500 per month covering April to June.
Also included are 12,466 public school teachers who will receive a ₱2,000 monthly incentive for three months, Grade 12 students under DepEd Manila who will receive ₱500 each, and students from city-run universities who will receive educational assistance.
A second batch of ₱452.3 million in monetary allowances for 293,655 beneficiaries will be released from July 22 to 24. This covers monthly assistance for PWDs, solo parents, and senior citizens.
Around 212,553 senior citizens in Manila will receive ₱500 per month from April to June, amounting to ₱331.4 million. Meanwhile, 25,930 qualified senior citizens registered under the DSWD Social Pension program will receive an additional ₱1,000 monthly benefit for the same period.
Domagoso emphasized that the city’s programs are intended to provide assistance without discrimination among residents.
“Uulitin ko po, sa Lungsod ng Maynila na nakapaloob sa programang itinaguyod natin, isinimulan natin, at patuloy nating pinatutupad na kung saan walang distinction — mahirap, middle class, at mayaman,” he said.
The mayor also reminded beneficiaries to take note of the scheduled release dates and assured the public that the city government would continue to manage taxpayers’ money responsibly.
“Pipilitin nating laging maging mainam, sinop, at episyenteng gastahin ang mga taxpayers’ money na ipinagkatiwala sa atin ng mga kababayan natin,” Domagoso said.
