The local government of Manila is urging residents to join efforts in maintaining a clean environment, preventing flooding, and protecting community health.
According to Boy Gonzales' report, the appeal comes after complaints about floating garbage in the river of Barangay 94, which caused foul odors, clogged waterways, and posed health risks to residents.
In response, the Department of Environment and Public Services immediately conducted an intensive cleanup operation, removing accumulated trash to restore cleanliness and ensure proper water flow in the area.
Authorities collected around 100 sacks of various types of waste, including debris, plastic bags, plastic cups, diapers, and other garbage.
The Manila LGU reminded the public that dumping waste into rivers and other waterways is strictly prohibited and called on residents to dispose of trash properly in designated containers.
