The Manila local government unit (LGU) on Sunday released a list of routes for public utility jeepneys (PUJ) offering free rides.

Under Executive Order No. 14, series of 2026, the Manila government will shoulder participating jeepney drivers’ daily earnings to provide free rides for commuters amid the country’s oil crisis.

According to the Manila Public Information Office (PIO), the routes are as listed:

  • Don Bosco – Juan Luna – Divisoria

  • Dandan Street – Velasquez

  • Divisoria – Velasquez

  • Dasma – Divi – Velasquez

  • Bangkusay – Divisoria

  • Blumentritt – Antipolo – Balut

  • Tayuman – Lardizabal

  • P. Guevarra – Tayuman – Pritil

  • Gastambide – Divisoria – Morayta

  • Lealtad – Quiapo

  • Balic-Balic – Quiapo

  • Blumentritt – Quiapo

  • España – Blumentritt

  • Pandacan – Escoda

  • Singalong – Leon Guinto – P. Ocampo

  • Agoncillo – Guadalupe

  • Plaza del Carmen – SM Manila

  • Pandacan – Leon Guinto

  • Pandacan – Sta. Cruz

  • Paco – Rotonda

  • Bacood – Stop & Shop – Quiapo

  • Sta. Ana – Faura

  • Guadalupe – Pedro Gil – Faura

  • San Andres – Faura

The free ride program will last for five days, on March 30 to 31, resuming on April 6 to 8, to assist operators, drivers, business owners, and commuters, said the Manila PIO.

The office reminded the public that only jeepneys with signs bearing the notice: “This PUJ is provided for by the City of Manila – LIBRENG SAKAY.”

On Friday, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso reached an agreement with the presidents of 22 jeepney operators and drivers associations (JODAs), securing 1,442 free-ride jeepneys to be deployed on the said dates.
