The Manila local government sprung into action, coming to the aid of residents affected by a fire that struck Mayhaligue Street in Tondo, it said in a statement on Sunday.

The Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) provided the fire victims hot meals, family boxes, hygiene kits, and cash aid.

“Batay sa datos ng MDSW, umabot sa 398 pamilya ang naapektuhan ng sunog na sumiklab nitong Abril 30 at umabot sa ika-apat na alarma,” the city government reported.

The local government continues to support the victims to ensure their needs are met, it said.
