The Manila City government on Tuesday, June 2, distributed 551 Sony 55-inch Smart TVs and 982 HP laptops with bags to Kindergarten and Grade 1 teachers under the “One Laptop, One TV, One Classroom” program.

The distribution, led by Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso at the San Andres Sports Complex, covered teachers from all six congressional districts in the city.

Domagoso said the initiative fulfills a commitment he made during his 2025 State of the City Address and forms part of the city’s Minimum Basic Needs policy focused on education, healthcare, housing, and jobs.

The mayor thanked public school teachers for their dedication and acknowledged their role in shaping his life as a former public school student.

“Kung hindi kayo nagtiyaga, mga teacher ng Kinder at Grade 1, sa kakulitan ko nung araw, malamang hindi ako mayor ngayon,” Domagoso said.

Aside from gadgets, the city also distributed more than 2.6 million notebooks, over 1.3 million notepads, 66,250 school bags for Kinder to Grade 2 students, and PE uniforms for students from Kinder to Grade 12.

Domagoso also announced the expansion of Manila’s fresh milk feeding program, which will now benefit around 60,000 Kinder and Grade 1 students starting this June.

“Ang isang batang malusog, masigla, ay madaling matuto,” the mayor added.
