Manila 2nd District Congressman Rolan Valeriano has filed a cyber libel complaint against Cavite Representative Kiko Barzaga at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Manila.
According to a report by RH Boy Gonzales, the complaint stems from a Facebook post by Rep. Barzaga, in which he alleged that members of the National Unity Party (NUP) accepted bribes from businessman Enrique Razon in exchange for supporting Leyte Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez’s speakership bid in 2025.
Valeriano said he would not let the accusation go unchallenged, as it directly damages the name and reputation of members of their party.
He further explained that Romualdez faced no opponents in his speakership bid at the time, leaving no reason for any alleged bribery to occur.
The congressman also noted that Barzaga seemed to have forgotten the responsibilities and decorum expected of a member of the House of Representatives.
This marks the third cyber libel complaint faced by Barzaga, following previous complaints filed by businessman Enrique Razon and House Deputy Speaker and Antipolo City Representative Ronaldo Puno.
