In a live broadcast of the program "Talk To The People," Manila Mayor Francisco 'Isko' Moreno Domagoso announced the release of a total of ₱1,094,082,181.12 in funds for the city’s 896 barangays.
The allocation includes ₱25,411,000 from barangay clearance collections and ₱1,068,671,181.12 sourced from Real Property Tax (RPT) revenues.
Mayor Isko emphasized that the approved budgets aim to strengthen the capacity of barangays in delivering essential services to residents, particularly in the context of the ongoing global oil crisis triggered by unrest in the Middle East.
“Sa mga barangay, kayo ay may approved budget na, think of other things na maaring makatulong in line with the national goal,” he said, encouraging local officials to use funds for initiatives that align with national development priorities.
The city government highlighted that these allocations will support programs ranging from basic infrastructure and community health projects to disaster preparedness and social welfare services, ensuring that residents continue to receive timely and efficient support.
This release reflects Manila’s proactive approach to maintaining public service continuity amid economic pressures while promoting fiscal responsibility and transparency at the barangay level.
Mayor Isko also encouraged barangays to explore innovative solutions and partnerships that can maximize the impact of the funds for the benefit of all Manileños.
