Police are continuing their investigation into a shooting incident that left one man injured at the swimming pool of a condominium in Km. 11, Sasa, Davao City, on the night of January 15, 2026.

According to the Sasa Police Station, the incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. following a heated argument between the families of the suspect, identified as “Joseph,” 46, a condominium unit owner, and the victim, “Ricky,” an autoshop owner and fellow unit owner. The dispute reportedly stemmed from an issue involving their children.

A witness, the condominium’s head security guard, said the suspect allegedly drew a firearm and shot the victim twice, hitting his right arm. The victim and his son fled to their unit, while the suspect returned to his own unit and later surrendered to security personnel.

Police said the firearm used, a .45 caliber pistol, was surrendered by the suspect’s wife and is now in police custody.

The victim was rushed to Southern Philippine Medical Center for treatment, while the suspect remains under police custody as authorities prepare the filing of charges.
