Authorities are investigating the discovery of a man found dead inside an abandoned pickup truck in Barangay Pias, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija, on Thursday afternoon, June 18.
According to initial information from police, residents reported a long-parked, heavily tinted black pickup truck in the area, prompting them to alert authorities due to suspicion.
Responding investigators later discovered the lifeless body of a male passenger lying face down on the front passenger seat. The victim was reportedly wearing a black T-shirt and brown shorts, had a large tattoo on his back, and was covered with a blanket.
Officials noted that the condition of the scene suggests the possibility that the victim may have been killed elsewhere before the body was placed inside the vehicle.
Authorities also observed muddy tires on the pickup truck, which may be relevant to the ongoing probe.
The remains have been brought to a funeral facility while investigators coordinate with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to identify the registered owner of the vehicle.
Police are also looking into whether the incident is connected to the recent discovery of two foreign nationals found dead along the TPLEX.
The investigation remains ongoing.
