Singer-TV host Teddy Corpuz shared that a thief broke into his home in the early hours of Sunday, May 3.

In a now-deleted social media post shared by Corpuz, the suspect was seen in CCTV footage climbing over the gate of his residence before entering the property.

The "It's Showtime Host" said the incident led to the loss of several personal items, including a gaming iPad and multiple rings.

In a live stream following the break-in, the Rocksteddy vocalist expressed frustration and anger toward the suspect, specifically mentioning the stolen device.

“‘Yung ipad natin tol, M5 ‘yun Ipad pro 11M5…ginagalit mo ako,” Corpuz said, emphasizing his disappointment over the theft.

Footage from the CCTV was later enhanced using artificial intelligence (AI) to make the suspect’s face clearer. Corpuz then appealed to the public for help in identifying the individual, sharing information he received suggesting that the suspect may have been hiding in Montalban, Rizal.

Days after the incident, Corpuz provided an update through a separate video post, confirming that the stolen iPad had been recovered.

“Mga bandang 4:30 ng umaga, pumunta yung mga barangay sa bahay namin. In-inform nila kami na sinurender nung kapatid nung magnanakaw yung... item na nakuha sa atin. So yung iPad, sinurender sa amin,” Corpuz said.

“Nabalik na yung iPad pero yung mga singsing hindi na nabalik,” he also said.

He explained that barangay officials visited his home early in the morning and informed him that the suspect’s sibling had voluntarily surrendered the device.

According to Corpuz, the suspect had contacted his sibling and revealed where the iPad was hidden, leading to its retrieval and return.

“Tinawagan nung magnanakaw yung kapatid niya tapos sinabi kung saan niya tinago yung iPad. So, nakuha natin yung iPad kaninang umaga,” he said.

The singer expressed gratitude to barangay officials and local community leaders who coordinated efforts to return the item. He also thanked netizens who assisted in identifying and tracking information related to the suspect.

“Maraming salamat! Shoutout, shoutout sa mga barangay officials natin at sa mga sa purok leader nila na nakipag-coordinate sa amin. So sila yung kumuha at nag-retrieve ng item ng iPad," he said.

“Thank you sa lahat ng mga netizen natin na naging imbestigador, naging detective at saka naging hacker yung mga kasi nabulahaw yung perpetrator,” he added.

Despite the recovery of the iPad, Corpuz said he still hopes the suspect will be apprehended and reminded the public to remain vigilant against similar incidents.

“Sana mahuli yung magnanakaw and sana maging vigilant pa rin tayo,” he said.
